Hello my friends. The week I’m recording this is my BIRTHDAY week so I’m planning all sorts of good things for myself. I love creating my own wonderful birthday experience. I started out with some beautiful sunny flowers for myself- of course I buy myself flowers each week!- and I have plans for lots of time in the woods, my favorite foods, energy healing for myself, and I even bought myself a group training I did this week on a different type of energy healing and that was wonderful. All that to say I’m in full celebration mode for me. And just to note that celebration doesn’t mean eating a bunch of crap that will make ME feel like crap later. Over the years I’ve found foods that are treats and enjoyable and nourishing that don’t have the ingredients that give me headaches, and pain, and irritability. It’s magical!
Speaking of magic, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about this week. MAGIC. The magic that I experienced this weekend had to do with our refrigerator. Sounds magical already, doesn’t it? Ha. Well it was magical. There has been this small drip happening with our frig. We knew that something wasn’t right. Everything was still functioning, but obviously not ideal to have a puddle of water on the floor by the frig when you wake up. Each day I would put a towel on the floor to sop up the water, for WEEKS. It didn’t take much time, but it also didn’t fix the problem. It was a surface level fix.
After weeks of this, this weekend my husband and I finally looked at each other and knew it was now- we had to do something. We googled and youtubed and found a potential problem and a potential fix. Then we proceeded to take EVERYTHING out and put it on the kitchen counter. While he took apart the fridge, I threw out anything that had been in there far too long and started cleaning each drawer, shelf, and bin. We did the work (and hopefully fixed it)!
At the end of the day, there was magic at that moment. Yes, the little leak has stopped AND the inside of the fridge looked amazing. I felt more calm and frankly even felt more organized in my life. I had even more energy since the fridge was cleaned. It’s like my own life got a reboot
(and all because of the frig!). It’s magical!
What I started thinking about is that this is exactly how life works. My experience has been that something little needs attention and we ignore it over and over for a variety of reasons. It could be a little pain, difficulty sleeping, or it could be something that is bothering you in your relationship. Maybe you aren’t asking for what you need. Or you know you need to take time off instead of working yourself into exhaustion. You might have heard yourself say “I don’t have time”, “Maybe later”, “I’ll get to it after this big project is due”. I know those thoughts. I have them too (case in point- the refrigerator!).
Here’s the reality though, those little things are actually big energy sucks and we won’t know the benefit until we pay time and attention to it. The 1 minute for me to put the towel down this morning and the thoughts “I should do something about it” were taking up my mind and my energy. Over weeks all that energy is just like that slow leak from the fridge. Not a big deal in one day, but it all adds up.
Your life is like that too. The annoying pain in your back, the stress that you put up with weekly at work, the tiredness that is always there, but “not that bad.” These are all things that you may be putting up with and are just waiting for the “right time” or just kind of limping along because you think that they aren’t “that bad” or it’s just “how it is”.
I’ve watched my clients go from “it’s not that bad” to “Wow, I didn’t know it could feel this good!”
And that can be you too. Those little breakdowns in our lives can actually be a wake up call. The car breaking can be a sign to look at your relationship. The roof leaking can be a message about your health. Looking for the signs and synchronicities in your life can guide you to more and more places of health and wellness. I wouldn’t have had the car accident and the chronic pain, it would have taken me much longer to address the chronic stress and poor habits I had adopted as a 20-something. I’m much healthier now in my late 40s than I was in my mid-twenties!
My point is, this work is magical – and I don’t want you to miss it. You may not know how good you can feel, but I do. I know how good it can be for you and I want to show you that you can be clear, certain, and inspired in your life. I’ll hold that vision for you until you can hold it for yourself. I don’t want you to miss the magic that is waiting for you. It’s so close, I can feel it. And if you take a moment and feel into your body, I bet you can too.
Ok dear magical ones. Don’t miss your magic- don’t put off those messages that life is sending you. You can feel better, and I can help. Thank you so much for listening and for being here each week. Take good care of yourself.
